An Exciting Name Change for The Anxious Writer

Today, Wednesday 12th March, marks a new era for my Substack newsletter. For today, I am no longer a small, shrunken, staying in my comfort zone Anxious Writer, but the proud writer of Brave Words where I will be taking tiny steps towards my big dreams.

In the words of many a Kardashian it is so exciting.

Honestly, I have a ball of exhilarated energy in the pit of my stomach because this feels so right. I feel like I have tapped into the direction I truly want to take with this newsletter.

It just goes to show how a simple change in perspective and a change in name can really fire up the enthusiasm, ideas and motivation.

In addition to writing about being brave and pushing myself out of my comfort zone (like I’ve done previously), I will be actively undertaking scarier projects. I’ll be sharing more of my writing like STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE and straight into a flock of chickens where I wrote about something quite different from my life. And I’ll be documenting how it feels whilst doing so.

I also have plans to research and write in depth essays about authors and writers that have inspired me as I delve into the stories behind their words. I hope I’m not tempting fate, but I’ve already started making notes on one of my favourite authors, Agatha Christie, about her real life experiences whilst writing The Mystery of the Blue Train.

Brave Words also feels quite apt as I get going with my querying journey and resume writing my novel so I can start sending that out to agents. Again, I’ll be documenting that process here in my newsletter. It’ll basically be a case of doing and documenting and researching and writing!

I hope you’ll enjoy the change in perspective as much as I will.
